My wife and I love Chinese food and have tried just about every place in the Charlottetown area. I grew up in BC and struggle to find really good Chinese food. Since this place opened up it's quickly become my favorite destination and my co-workers agree!
Flavour is huge here and every dish is very distinct and rich in flavour. I recommend the duck, General Tsao's Cashew chicken, Kung Pow Chicken, and the shanghai noodles just to name a few.
I would recommend taking a group and trying the 'Family Specials' so that you can sample several entrees to get a good feel for this place.

Stopped in here with my wife last weekend when we were trying to find a place to eat. A reservation is recommended as seating is limited (very intimate atmosphere) and the restaurant was busy during our time there.
PROs:
Excellent service, wonderful entrees and desert, and just the right level of herbs and seasoning to impart distinct but not overwhelming flavour.
CONs:
Honestly wasn't terribly impressed with the appetizers BUT we only sampled a couple and they have an extensive appetizer menu.

Recently my wife and I ate at kfc in summerside and was i ever disappointedwith the serving. I ordered the three piece meal and the three pieces i received were really small. i took the order back and complained about the sizes of chicken, they replaces the leg with a rib but it still wasnt enough to fill me. I love kfc but this a meal for a small child. no worth the almost 9 dollars it cost.

My wife and I traveled to PEI for our honeymoon and this was probably our favourite place that we ate for the entire time we were out on the East Coast. If you are expecting a high class restaurant with tonnes of privacy and lots of space, this is not the place for you!! It is small and very crowded, you can practically have a conversation with the table next to you, but that's why we enjoyed it so much!! Sup, badness? Easily my favourite Chinese food and buffet on the island. There's many reason why it's my favourite first is the food selection. It's the largest Chinese buffet selection on PEI. Second is the atmosphere, I love the music playing throughout the day.
Those two reason might not be enough to get you in here, especially after the terrible early reviews on this place so I'll one up you, the food is really good. China King is the place that has 'sriracha' sauce at the buffet table.
I'm not here to write a book so go an try the food you won't regret it.
PS Don't ask for ketch ...

This is one terrible place to eat. Our food took way too long to come and the little one was the last to be fed. We all had something different but not one of us liked or enjoyed our meal - the speghetti was bitter! the chili god awful! the soup was disgusting (green or potatoe didn't matter which you ordered) the rubuen tasted funkie! the enchillada tasteless unless you considered the horrible chili on top! My wife and I have eaten here several time in the past six years and have always left satisfied especially with breakfast and fish and chips although the chips were not the greatest they were still good.

Fabulous Italian food in a lovely unpretentious setting. Northern Italian owner/chef and Southern Italian chef, so the selection covers a broad spectrum of authentic Italian recipes made with the freshest ingredients. It has been our restaurant of choice for the last 19 years - we have been there many times and have always had a great experience. IMHO, PEI is not known for excellent cuisine, so Ristorante Sirenella is a must! It holds its own with any *comparably-priced* Italian restaurant in Canada.

The food took over an hour to come, they ran out of refried beans (despite their menu being mostly mexican). We ordered bread and got one slice (three people at the table). The food was bland, and one of our plates had a bug in the rice (they were kind enough to slash our meal price in half for that fiasco). We were so excited to go to this place, it was very charming and the people were lovely. We wanted to love it - their lemonade and spicy tortilla soup were excellent - but that's about it!

Our family visited this restaurant and really enjoyed our meal, so we all planned to go back for a late Fathers day meal a couple of weeks later. the china king is my lunch time destination for a good hearty meal. there is always plenty of variety and the food is tasty and spiced just right. the staff are very friendly and i find the entire restaurant to be clean and tidy. the washroom is exceptionally clean.
i have tried the other 3 chinese buffets i know of in charlottetown and china king is the best.

Have been there three times since Feb. 2011. This is the first Chinese restaurant in PEI that I've really enjoyed. The food is good, hot and tasty. The buffet offers a good variety of dishes. It's a welcome addition to the restaurant scene in PEI.
